Extension Associate - Regional Coordinator working in Bronx, NY.



Provide leadership, coordinate, manage, supervise and evaluate the implementation of core Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Eat Smart New York (ESNY) programming in the Bronx region and of citywide efforts as assigned.  Promote issue-based program objectives and plans within the assigned area.  Assist in recruiting, hiring and training of 8-11 staff.  Supervise 8 - 12 staff.  Ensure accountability and provide direct overall supervision to assigned staff.  Provide subject matter expertise in foods, nutrition, physical activity and food safety and health.  Reports and receives supervision from the Nutrition and Health Program Leader.  Supervises community educators, volunteers and an administrative assistant.


Requirements:
Master's degree in Nutrition/Home Economics/Public Health with a minimum of 15 credits in nutrition.  At least five years of progressively responsible experience with emphasis on community-based models of education.  At least three years of supervisory and management experience.



Familiarity with public and private sector programs and resources at levels appropriate to develop Cornell programs.  Familiarity with program delivery methods suitable for groups within targeted neighborhoods.  Demonstrated ability to design, develop, implement and evaluate nutrition education programs in a variety of community settings.  Demonstrated ability to related to a variety of diverse audiences and to actively promote the delivery and educational programs in a manner sensitive to multicultural and multi-ethnic issues in New York City neighborhoods.  Experience working with coworkers possessing a range of skills and interests, and demonstrated experience in problem solving and/or program development as a team member.  Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred.
