Job Description

The Cornell Sprecher Institute for Comparative Cancer Research seeks an educator to plan, coordinate, implement, market and evaluate science-based, public health programs on cancer and environmental risk factors. Includes developing educational programming on the breast cancer risk of and risk reduction strategies for environmental chemicals found in the home and workplace environment for diverse target audiences, including the general public, community organizations, educators, and selected occupational groups. Programs will be developed independently and as part of a team using a variety of media (print, in-services, videoconferencing, web-based) to be delivered on a local, regional, and statewide basis.

 

Qualifications

Masters degree in public health, toxicology, environmental science or related field, undergraduate or graduate course work in chemistry and biology, with 2-3 years of experience conducting public health or science education in an adult-learning environment. Requires ability to travel throughout New York State and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as job demands. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Requires ability to use computers for communication, data entry, and analysis with demonstrated competency in MSWord and Power Point.
