Role and Accountability
Agriculture
Educator to plan, develop, execute, and evaluate
agriculture programs in
As a staff member, actively
participate to connect Agriculture education to other program areas including
Small Business, Environmental, Nutrition, and Youth Development where
appropriate. Manage Ag education resources for the Association and serve as
resource educator for county residents.
Assist Executive Director in securing funds to support this program and
position through collaborations and partnerships, and grant opportunities.
Program Management and Coordination 10%
Support existing local efforts and identify new
opportunities to develop strategies for Ag economic development and
marketing. Provide leadership for the
development of new markets and for general promotion of agriculture resources
in
Subject Matter Resource and Program Delivery 70%
Assess needs and develop education
programs for dairy farm and animal science audiences. Network and generate strategies for reaching
this population. Share and interpret new
and existing Extension-related and other publications about Agriculture education
from web sites, list-servs, etc. with professional colleagues, other Extension
Educators, and to consumers. Identify
Cornell faculty with expertise in related areas. Provide information to non-farm audiences
about agriculture in

Evaluate programs using existing tools, analyzing data and
implementing program improvement recommendations.

Connect with Cornell faculty to provide subject matter
resources as needed to support local priorities and regional interests.
·
Participate in any appropriate Cornell-based field
research. Evaluate program
effectiveness; implement revisions as needed.
·
Maintain accurate computerized records of all program
activities and report results.
Administrative Management (Finance, Budget) 5%
·
Provide support to
supervisor for management of program budget including identifying and
communicating program costs.
·
Identify mechanisms
to reduce costs and maximize existing resources within Association and to farms in
Professional Improvement and
other duties as assigned (5%)
·
Attend in-service
education as appropriate, relating to agriculture, small farms, dairy and animal science responsibilities.
·
Develop an annual
professional improvement plan.
·
Participate in
CCE-Cayuga staff meetings, Association events, and community coalitions, as
appropriate and as planned with supervisor.

Valid driver’s
license and safe driving record or ability to meet travel demands of the
position.

work flexible hours including nights and/or weekends.

Dialog frequently
with internal (supervisor, colleagues) & external (community members) to
ensure customer satisfaction.
