This individual exercises professional judgment and executive skills in administering overall association operations. The Executive Director provides leadership in overall educational program development and implementation. </p> <p><strong><u>I. Organizational Leadership<span class=GramE>&nbsp; (</span>35%</u></strong><u>)</u></p> <p>A. Vision, Mission, and Strategies - Working with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director develops a written shared vision for the future of the organization, builds understanding around the mission, and develops appropriate goals and strategies to advance that mission articulated in a strategic plan.</p> <p>B. Executive Director/Board Partnership - The Executive Director implements and manages policy established by the Board of Directors, sharing joint responsibility for developing and maintaining a strong working relationship and effective communication. Working together, enables effective working partnership with county government and other governmental entities and agencies.</p> <p>C. Marketing and Public Image - In conjunction with the Board and staff, establish and maintain positive relationships with the many individuals and groups that support the work of the organization.&nbsp; Provide leadership for marketing and development efforts that positively promote financial and other resources of Cornell Cooperative Extension programs.</p> <p>D. Financial Planning and Resource Development - In partnership with board members and appropriate staff, establish and implement financial development strategies.</p> <p>E. Extension System Liaison - Participate in quarterly Extension Executive Leadership Conferences and in regional meetings; provide liaison and linkages between the Cornell Cooperative Extension system and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County.</p> <p><strong><u>II. Management and Operations<span class=GramE>&nbsp; (</span>35%</u>)</strong></p> <p>A. Lead the staff in implementation of the strategic plan and program plans of work.</p> <p>B. Assure that financial planning, budgeting and administrative management systems are in place, and that the organization s goals and strategic planning serve as the basis for financial planning.</p> <p>C. Operations and Facilities Management - Responsible for day-to-day management including compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Work with staff and delegate implementation as appropriate. </p> <p>D. Human Resources  Ensure the hiring of appropriate and competent staff.&nbsp; Exercise personnel supervision over all Association staff members through Program Directors and support staff supervisors.&nbsp; &nbsp;Assure compliance with all legal and employment requirements related to Association employment. &nbsp;Evaluate and implement progressive human resource programs and procedures, assuring that the Association has and uses employee job classification systems, conducts and annual performance review for each employee, and provides for Equal Employment Opportunity.</p> <p><span class=GramE>E.&nbsp; Supervise Senior Management Team members.</span></p> <p><strong><u>III. Program Leadership and Management<span class=GramE>&nbsp; (</span>20%)</u></strong></p> <p>A. Program Leadership - Provide leadership for the program development process, including multi-disciplinary multi-association programs, in order to provide innovative and relevant programs which capitalize on the relationship with Cornell University, and which address Suffolk CCE program priorities.</p> <p>B. Provide for ongoing evaluation processes to assure program quality.</p> <p>C. Oversee the <span class=GramE>development of the Association's Program Plan of Work and assure</span> that it is used as the basis for programmatic decisions.</p> <p>D. Ensure that programs address the diversity of the community and meet Equal Program Opportunity guidelines.</p> <p>E. Manage overall program and explore new opportunities, partnerships and technologies in concert with program directors, extension educators, administrative staff, volunteers, and Cornell University.</p> <p><strong><u>IV. EEO/EPO Accountabilities<span class=GramE>&nbsp; (</span>5%)</u></strong></p> <p>A. Appreciate and embrace diversity in all Association interactions with clientele, staff, volunteers and the public.</p> <p>B. Provide leadership to ensure all searches include an effort to attract from a diverse pool of applicants in the areas of recruitment, staffing and selection.</p> <p>C. Provide supervision to ensure program outreach to diverse audiences is actively pursued and accomplished.</p> <p>D. Ensure that appropriate statements regarding non-discrimination in programming and staffing be included in appropriate Association literature and publications, and that recordkeeping regarding diversity, ethnicity, gender, people with disabilities, etc. be maintained for all programs and departments.</p> <p><strong><u>V. &nbsp;&nbsp;Staff and Professional Development<span class=GramE>&nbsp; (</span>5%)</u></strong></p> <p>A. Participate in orientation programs, in-service education and in-depth coursework related to responsibilities of the position.</p> <p>B. Jointly develop and pursues a personal professional development plan in cooperation with Cornell Cooperative Extension Administration.</p> <p>C.
