  • Have you always wished that you could be more proficient at drawing?
  • Ever wondered how artists make the plant world look lifelike and beautiful?
  • Have you been looking for an opportunity to unwind by finding a new avenue to creatively express yourself?
Beginning in late January 2008, this six-week online course will explore how to use plants as the subject of art. The online nature of the course makes it unique because it allows students to access and complete the lessons at their own pace.

Introduction to Botanical Illustration is designed for people of all ages and from all walks of life from current students to those who haven’t taken a class in a very long time. It explores topics including:
  • How to observe and approach subject material for drawing as an artist.
  • How to creatively transfer reality to paper.
  • How to use the elements of line, shape and space constructively in artworks.
